Both the federal and provincial governments have released programs along with other financial measures to alleviate the economic strain COVID-19 has had on small and medium-sized enterprises, non-profit organizations, and charities.

COVID-19 Relief Programs

 

 

Barrick-Hemlo Superior Loan Fund

Recently the Township of Manitouwadge entered into a unique partnership with Barrick Gold Inc. and the Manitouwadge Economic Development Corporation to deliver small business loans to for-profit storefront businesses in the communities of Manitouwadge, Marathon, and White River.

 

Existing or start-up businesses with annual gross revenues of under $1 million are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 in the form of a repayable loan (interest rate is 1.5%) with repayment terms either 12 or 24 months.

 

The program guidelines, policy, and application to the Hemlo Superior Loan Fund can be found on the Township’s website at https://www.manitouwadge.ca/business/strategic-initiatives/hemlo-superior-loan-fund/

 

Funding is limited to first come first serve.

 

Additionally, Barrick is also providing the ability for businesses to receive a free one-hour consultation with MNP, Chartered Accountants and business specialists. Businesses can contact MNP directly at:

Barrick Micro-Loan Program for COVID-19 Relief

Barrick Gold Corporation is in the beginning stages of implementing a micro-loan program to reduce the financial strain COVID-19 has had on local businesses. Barrick is offering loans between $5,000-$10,000 to help local entrepreneurs with cash-flow problems and other COVID-19 related issues.

Please read the description to learn what information you will need to apply and where you will send your application once it is completed.
